Job Summary
Conduct on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, and rail industry partners by setting up derails, track signs, and other safety tools. Coordinate train movements via tablets, smartphones, and communication tools while maintaining radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews. Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies through mandatory clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all crew members before they enter the track. Prepare daily field reports to document any rule violations and provide job-site coordination. This role requires extensive travel, often 50% to 85% of the time, and involves working alongside active tracks in a field environment. National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is a certified DBE/WBE firm providing safety services across the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of tablets, smartphones, and communication tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company
- Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training
- Must be able to travel 50% to 85% of the time
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
- Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to successfully complete classroom training
