Job Summary

Conduct on-track safety services for freight railroads and transit systems by setting up derails, track signs, and safety tools while coordinating with dispatchers and train crews via radio. Prepare daily field reports documenting rule violations and enforce all federal, state, and company policies. Lead crew members through mandatory, thorough job briefings before entering the track and utilize tablets and smartphones to support train movement coordination. This field role requires 50% to 85% travel time and valid driver's license. National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is a certified DBE/WBE firm providing safety services across the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of tablets, smartphones, and communication tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time; sometimes months at a time
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way department
  • Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
  • Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
  • Must be able to successfully complete classroom training
