Job Summary
Provide on-track safety by setting up derails, track signs, and other safety tools while coordinating train movements with dispatchers and crews via radio. Conduct mandatory, thorough job briefings before crew entry and enforce all railroad, state, and federal policies. Prepare daily field reports documenting rule violations and maintain clear communication using tablets and smartphones. Requires extensive travel (50-85% of time), a valid driver's license, and two years of railroad maintenance experience. Compensation ranges from $25 to $37 per hour with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of tablets, smartphones, and communication tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company
- Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training
- Must be able to travel 50% to 85% of the time
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
- Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to successfully complete classroom training
