Job Summary
Provide on-track safety by setting up derails, track signs, and other tools while coordinating job sites. Conduct mandatory briefings with all crew members before they enter the track and maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite status. Prepare daily field reports detailing any rule violations and enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies. Utilize tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to support train movement coordination. This role requires 50% to 85% travel, a valid driver's license, and completion of Federal, Client, and Company-specific training. National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is a certified DBE/WBE firm expanding rapidly across the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of tablets, smartphones, and communication tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way department
- Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
- Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to successfully complete classroom training
