Job Summary
Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners. Duties include on-track safety setup (derails, track signs, safety tools), preparing daily field reports, coordinating job-site activities, radio communication with Dispatchers/Train Crews, conducting mandatory crew briefings, enforcing Railroad/State/Federal policies, and frequent field work with 50%–85% travel. Requires proficiency with tablets/smartphones, strong communication skills, detail-oriented organizational ability, ability to travel for extended periods, and successful completion of required training. Compensation ranges $25-$37 per hour and benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, and 401(k). Company operates across the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way department
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and communication tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training
