Job Summary

Administer PPD tests, vaccines, and immunizations to employees and volunteers within the Loma Linda University Health system while assisting with database entry. Work under the direction of the employee health registered nurse and Medical Director, performing duties within the LVN scope of practice and adhering to established policies and protocols. Utilize interpersonal skills to support customer service excellence and contribute to a cooperative environment among a culturally diverse workforce. Maintain proficiency in English (Spanish preferred) and operate necessary computer programs and equipment. Requires an active California LVN license, Basic Life Support certification, and at least one year of LVN experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of Vocational Nursing
  • Minimum of one year experience as an LVN
  • Knowledge of the California LVN scope of practice
  • Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations on health care workers immunization and flu shot requirements
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Able to read, write legibly and speak in English
  • Use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment utilized for position
  • Perform patient care activities using proper body mechanics and safety precautions
  • Comprehend and follow-through with instructions
  • Relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
  • Be assertive and consistent in following policies
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure

  • Perform duties with RN supervision

  • Hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone
  • Identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place and patient care
  • Discern temperature variances through touch
  • See adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary for position
  • Exhibit professional behavior at all times
  • Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
  • Basic life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in health care clinic or acute care hospital setting
  • Speak in Spanish
