Job Summary
Risk Advisor drives new insurance account production and sales within assigned accounts through consultative selling of health and welfare employee benefits lines, developing an annual sales plan, building a robust pipeline from personal contacts and referrals, and expanding service lines for existing clients. The role entails researching the market, generating leads via client referrals and marketing sources, documenting activity, and closing new business with proper handoff to client service teams. The candidate is expected to demonstrate industry engagement, provide strategic recommendations based on client needs, leverage in-house loss control and claims advocacy support, and utilize technology including proprietary AI solutions to enhance prospect engagement and client experience. Networking, relationship-building with key client decision makers, and effective communication with leadership and underwriters are essential, as is ability to work independently and within a team, maintain confidentiality, and travel to client sites as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum 2 years’ sales experience in the insurance industry with a focus on health and welfare lines of coverage is required
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions
- In-depth understanding of complex employee benefits lines of coverage
- Must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel to client sites and a reliable source of transportation
