Job Summary
Provide direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients within a client and family centred care model, operating under the direction of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist. Adhere to organizational principles including Indigenous Cultural Safety, cultural humility, anti-racism, competency guidelines, and CSRT Standards. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and community representatives while organizing workload and solving critical problems. Complete a Criminal Records Review Check as required. This internal role supports Vancouver Coastal Health's vision of healthy lives in healthy communities.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program
- currently completing a clinical placement
- Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts including co-workers, patients, and families, physicians, community agency representatives
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
