Job Summary
The Emotional Support Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for exceptional students, managing classroom environments, and supervising paraeducators. Responsibilities include planning individualized instruction, conducting IEP meetings, managing student data and progress, and maintaining communication with parents. Strong skills in behavior management, collaboration with educational staff, and understanding diverse student needs are essential. A bachelor's degree in Special Education and current certification in the field are required, along with at least one year of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Instructional I or Instructional II certification in Special Education N-12 issued by The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- One year of experience working with a special needs population in a school setting
- Understanding of emotional and behavioral disorders, mental health issues, autism, developmental delays, and intellectual disabilities
