Job Summary

EMIS Services Specialist (Full-time) responsible for delivering EMIS software support services to educational entities within the NEOnet consortium. Responsibilities include understanding EMIS procedures and SIS software, rapidly troubleshooting user inquiries, delivering user training, maintaining access to EMIS reporting tools (ODEW, OH|ID, ODDEX, Data Collector, Secure Data Center), ensuring timely and accurate data submissions per state/federal guidelines, collaborating with district staff to align staff, financial, and student data for funding, preparing documentation for professional development, escalated incident management with state support, and mentoring EMIS Liaisons in advanced data reporting techniques and EMIS business rules. Requires the ability to read technical documentation, train users, maintain data confidentiality, and apply EMIS validation logic. Preferred two-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent, working knowledge of computer languages/OS, experience with Data Analysis for Student Learning Software or equivalent, and strong customer service and communication skills. Membership in OAEP and attendance at EMIS meetings are noted as part of the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand software documentation, to develop instructional materials as needed, to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
  • Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
  • Provide problem-solving initiative, cultivate resources available from other OECN sites, the Ohio Department of Education, and associated commercial vendors.
  • Familiarity with various computer systems and ability to use associated computer equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees and train others in the use of computer equipment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with all local and national security standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Ability to apply EMIS business rules and validation logic to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and integrity.
