Job Summary
Review and tailor EMI/C test requirements to meet specified product and system performance for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance. Develop models for interference coupling mechanisms, shielding integrity, and circuit/cable interface isolation to mitigate conducted/radiated emissions and susceptibility stimuli. Perform EMI/EMC testing, analyze data, and prepare qualification test procedures and reports from components to systems level. Design unique test apparatus and testing methodology related to EMI/C and RF electrical testing. Process work instructions for mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role requires active SCI or Top Secret clearance with SSBI, a STEM degree, and experience with MIL-STD-461/462/464/704 and RTCA-DO-160s. The position is contingent on obtaining and maintaining program access and funding.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience
- Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of engineering experience
- PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ year(s) of engineering experience
- Technical knowledge of or exposure to product and systems EMI/C test qualification, engineering, evaluation, analyzing, and testing
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years and prior to start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, and/or Analog Circuitry
- Experience with Defense and Aerospace industry practices along with programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, and Risk Assessments for E3 compliance
- Practical hands-on experience in performing emissions and immunity testing to the applicable specifications
- Thorough working knowledge of MIL-STD's 461/462/464/704 and Commercial Standards (RTCA-DO-160s, FCC, EN & IEC)
- Experience with EMI/C Lab and RF test equipment including and not limited to Spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, signal/pulse generators, Network analyzers, RF generators/monitors/antennas
- Experience in electromechanical design and fabrication of EMI/C test aids and other RF electrical tests
- Experience with EMI/C emissions/susceptibility test software, MATLAB, Mathcad and other related programming languages
- Must be willing to travel occasionally to locations elsewhere in the corporation in order to assist in testing/troubleshooting efforts, attend design review meetings, and work off-shift hours if necessary
