Job Summary
Conduct sustained assessments of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDTs) to identify adoption opportunities and capability shortfalls for the Warfare Development Agenda. Coordinate input on EDT activities within the ACT S&T POW to inform strategic foresight analysis, NATO defense planning, and subsequent capability development efforts. Educate HQ SACT staff on EDT risks and opportunities while managing a knowledge base for information exchange between NATO, ACT, and national stakeholders. Analyze NDPP products and operational Lessons Learned to develop practical examples of how emerging technologies address current and future operational challenges. Work onsite in Norfolk, VA, requiring an active NATO Secret clearance or National equivalent. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with four years of post-related experience, or six years of extensive experience if degree is lacking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information and communication technology, or closely related scientific or engineering discipline
- 4 years post-related experience
- Active NATO Secret clearance or National equivalent
- 2+ years experience in the acquisition, assembly, and interpretation of research & technology information
- Knowledge of S&T information sources in nations, for example defense research laboratories, academic institutions, media, and defense ministries
- Experience in interpreting future S&T and EDT-related information in order to assess how such technologies may be applied within the military environment and adopted to address current and future operational challenges
- Practical experience with PC office automation products, including the use of internet for information research
- Ability to conduct analytical work on EDT documentation, identify adoption pathways, and develop practical examples of how emerging technologies can be applied to the conflicts of today and tomorrow
- Demonstrated proficiency in English as defined in STANAG 6001 (Standardized Linguistic Profile (SLP) 3333 - Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) or equivalent
- Able to work fully onsite based on client needs
