Emerging Country Debt - Corporate Credit Analyst

Job Summary

Conduct corporate credit analysis for 300+ emerging market names across 80+ countries, balancing broad coverage of 10+ sectors with targeted deep dives into sovereign linkages and structural features. Perform rigorous analytical work by building and maintaining proprietary financial models, conducting due diligence through management meetings and sell-side research, and producing credit opinion write-ups for internal and external audiences. Collaborate with a six-member portfolio management team to support investment decisions on $9.5 billion in dedicated emerging debt assets, leveraging quantitative methods to inform fundamental research.

Required Qualifications

  • A strong undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Coursework or experience in corporate finance and financial statement analysis
  • 3-8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly and efficiently
  • Intellectual curiosity, humility, sound judgment, and a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to work
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality results
  • Ability to perform analytical work in a rigorous, repeatable manner aligned with the team's investment philosophy and process
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills
  • Ability to build, maintain, and interpret financial models
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance, credit fundamentals, and capital markets
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, emerging market economies, corporate credit, and capital markets
  • Familiarity with regional dynamics, sovereign risk, and EM investment frameworks

Desired Qualifications

  • Business-related degrees
  • CFA designation or progress toward the charter
  • Experience in investment management, sell-side research, corporate or investment banking, rating agencies, and multilateral development institutions
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets
  • Experience with emerging market economies, corporate credit, and capital markets
  • Familiarity with regional dynamics, sovereign risk, and EM investment frameworks
  • Proficiency in foreign languages, particularly Spanish
  • Additional language skills relevant to emerging markets
