Emergency Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
Record and deliver organized rounds, evaluate incoming patients, and prioritize cases based on assessment. Partner with the patient care team on treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns while providing client education on home care and medications. Assist the DVM with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures, including inducing and monitoring general anesthesia and sedation. Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients and perform in-house laboratory testing or prepare samples for outside labs. Work a rotating schedule from Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with potential shifts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Required Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passing of a drug screen
- Passing of a background check
Desired Qualifications
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license
- Previous emergency experience
