Emergency Veterinary Technician

Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, obtain vital parameters, and triage incoming emergency cases while providing nursing care for hospitalized critical patients. Administer medications via IV, IM, and SQ routes, manage fluid therapy and blood products, and assist with sedation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery. Execute venipuncture, catheter placement, and diagnostic procedures including digital radiography and point-of-care testing. Monitor patients using ECG, pulse oximetry, and capnography, and support CPR and emergency response efforts. Partner with veterinarians to maintain accurate records and advocate for patients during stressful situations. Begin onboarding and specialty training at the Marietta hospital in September 2026 before transitioning to the new Dunwoody facility opening October 2026.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience
- Experience in Emergency, Critical Care, Specialty Medicine, Surgery, or high-volume General Practice
- Veterinary nursing
- Patient monitoring
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Medication administration
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Client communication
Desired Qualifications
- LVT, RVT, or CVT credential
- Emergency or Critical Care experience
- RECOVER CPR Certification
- Advanced anesthesia experience
- Experience managing hospitalized or high-acuity patients
- Interest in pursuing advanced specialty training or VTS credentialing
