Emergency Veterinary Technician - Evenings

Job Summary

Record and deliver organized rounds while evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment. Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns, providing education on home care, medications, and patient wellness. Assist the DVM with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures, including inducing and monitoring general anesthesia and sedation. Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratories. Prior veterinary experience is required, with previous emergency experience desired, along with proficiency in drug calculations and unit conversions. Flexibility with work hours is necessary, including the ability to work additional shifts when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior veterinary experience
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passing of a drug screen
  • Passing of a background check

  • Previous emergency experience
