Job Summary
Nursing Trainer at VEG leads development and delivery of emergency veterinary training across hospitals, on-the-floor mentoring and strategic program development. Responsibilities include partnering with leadership to identify training needs, assessing assistants and credentialed technicians, driving VEG’s Cultivate program, implementing training programs, creating tailored content (presentations, videos, simulations, and assessments), organizing peer training, collaborating with nursing managers and professional networks to broaden impact, and refining training content to align with VEG’s culture and emergency standards of care. Role involves split time between hands-on floor mentoring and strategic development, with travel to other VEG hospitals in the region as needed. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, AVMA-accredited vet tech credentialing, and willingness to travel; night, weekend, and holiday availability; strong communication and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation
- Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals in your region to help with new veterinarian onboarding as needed
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
- Strong communicator and collaborator across teams
