Job Summary
Per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant at VEG in Winter Park, FL. Be at the heart of ER care, triaging incoming patients, assisting with treatments, nursing care, diagnostics, and setting up/monitoring anesthesia and sedation. Support IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration; participate in patient rounds and maintain continuity of care. Opportunities to grow into advanced responsibilities (anesthesia support, ultrasound, catheterization) through guided training pathways. Training includes CPR with RECOVER Certification. High school diploma or equivalent required; 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role is a bonus, and enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus. Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance), and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexible, fast-paced environment with a diverse team.
