Job Summary
Part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant in overnight shifts at VEG's Clearwater, FL location. Be the first warm welcome and steady support, triage incoming patients, assist treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics (bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, oxygen support). Work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation, manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration. Participate in patient rounds, maintain continuity of care, and learn CPR to become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided). Growth pathways include advancing to anesthesia support, ultrasound, and catheterization through guided training. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Compensation is competitive with a focus on learning and growth; includes travel stipends for certain credentials and a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus)
