Job Summary
Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care while assisting with treatments, nursing, and diagnostics including bloodwork, imaging, and oxygen support. Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases, manage IV fluids and blood transfusions, and administer medications across outpatient and inpatient settings. Join patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and learn CPR and RECOVER certification. Work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians in an open-concept environment, performing tasks from exam rooms to treatment areas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of practice management software
- Understanding of electronic medical record keeping
- Excellent communication skills
- Fine motor skills
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to work on the floor
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg on own
- Ability to support up to 40 kg with assistance
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment
- Willingness to work with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights
- Availability to work weekends

Desired Qualifications
- Enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role
- Emergency experience
- Specialty experience
- Ability to perform CPR
- RECOVER Certified Rescuer certification
- Experience with anesthesia support
- Experience with ultrasound
- Experience with catheterization
