Emergency Veterinary Assistant - Overnight; Part-Time

Job Summary
Record and deliver organized rounds, evaluate incoming patients to prioritize based on assessment, and partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care. Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients while assisting the DVM with assessments, treatments, and procedures. Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation, perform in-house laboratory testing, and prepare samples for outside labs. Prior veterinary experience is required, with proficiency in drug calculations and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment essential. Shift differentials and on-call pay are included in the compensation package.
Required Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passing of a drug screen
- Passing of a background check
