Job Summary

Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care while assisting with treatments, nursing, and diagnostics including bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, and oxygen support. Collaborate with credentialed technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases, managing IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration. Join patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer protocols. Perform physical tasks such as standing for prolonged hours, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 kg independently or supporting up to 40 kg with assistance in a fast-paced, noisy environment with strong odors. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role
  • Emergency experience
  • Specialty experience

  • Understanding of electronic medical record keeping
  • Excellent communication skills when collaborating with pet parents and team
  • Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
  • Ability to perform CPR
  • RECOVER Certified Rescuer certification
  • Ability to assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics
  • Ability to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases

  • Ability to assist during outpatient or inpatient care
