Job Summary
Emergency Veterinarian at VEG will handle a broad range of emergency cases, from routine to complex surgeries, including exotics, with a focus on rapid assessment, diagnostic workups (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies), and developing diagnostic and therapeutic plans. You’ll perform both minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures, educate clients on aftercare, prepare estimates, and maintain medical records. You’ll be part of a mentorship-driven, fast-paced ER team that emphasizes learning through VEG Education programs and unlimited ER CE, while providing compassionate, client-centered care and leadership on the hospital floor.
Required Qualifications
- A DVM or equivalent degree
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg with assistance to 40 kg
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented emergency hospital environment
- Ability to communicate diagnosis and treatment options to clients and complete medical records accurately
- Experience or strong interest in emergency medicine and emergency surgery (soft tissue) and endoscopy
- Ability to work in a noisy environment with strong odors
