Job Summary
Per diem Emergency Veterinarian at VEG, providing high-quality emergency care across cases from routine to complex, including exotics. Responsibilities include triage, examining patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostics (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies), forming diagnostic and therapeutic plans, communicating options to clients, preparing estimates, maintaining accurate medical records, performing minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures, and educating clients on aftercare and prevention. Must have a DVM or equivalent, thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment, and be available for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays. Required Qualifications
- A DVM or equivalent degree
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, kneel, work on the floor, and lift up to 25 kg with or without assistance
- Ability to tolerate noisy environments and strong odors
- Experience in emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy is preferred
- Team-oriented mindset and collaboration skills
