Per diem Emergency Veterinarian at VEG in Gaithersburg, MD. You’ll handle emergency cases, including exotics, and function as a leader on the hospital floor with mentorship and ongoing ER-focused education. You’ll perform triage, physical examinations, and diagnostics (ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, biopsies), develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans, communicate diagnoses and options to clients, prepare estimates, maintain medical records, educate clients on aftercare and prevention, perform minor and major emergency surgeries, and conduct endoscopic procedures. The role emphasizes empathetic, ownership-driven care within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and requires availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis.
