Emergency Veterinarian - Houston, TX (Baybrook)

Emergency Veterinarian in a 24/7 VEG hospital in Friendswood, TX, handling urgent and complex emergencies across a range of species including exotics. You’ll triage and provide rapid diagnostic workups (signals: vitals, presenting complaint, physical exam), perform or supervise ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies; develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans; communicate diagnoses and treatment options to clients; prepare and present estimates; maintain accurate medical records; educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures; perform minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures; thrive as a leader on the hospital floor within a mentorship-focused environment and participate in continuous learning through VEG Education programs and unlimited ER CE. The role requires strong communication, compassionate client care, ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 25 kg (with assistance for more), work in a noisy environment, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis. A DVM or equivalent degree is required; candidates should demonstrate a passion for emergency medicine, teamwork, ownership of outcomes, curiosity, and a people-centric approach.
