Job Summary
Emergency Veterinarian responsible for handling a broad range of emergency cases, including routine and complex surgeries, with exotics experience. You will perform triage, physical exams, diagnostics (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies), formulate diagnostic/therapeutic plans, communicate results and options to clients, prepare estimates, maintain medical records, educate clients on aftercare, and participate in endoscopic procedures. The role emphasizes leadership on the hospital floor, mentorship and continuous learning through VEG Education programs and ER-focused CE, with opportunities for growth, travel stipends, and potential equity based on role. Collaboration with a team in a fast-paced environment, delivering compassionate care to both people and their pets, while supporting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. Qualifications include a DVM or equivalent, dedication to emergency medicine and surgery, ability to work in a dynamic, multi-species ER, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- A DVM or equivalent degree
- Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg, with assistive capability for up to 40 kg
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong/odorful conditions
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
