Job Summary
Emergency Veterinarian at VEG in Braintree, MA. Handle emergency cases across a wide spectrum, including routine emergencies and exotic pets. Serve as a hospital floor leader with mentorship and continuous learning opportunities. Key duties include triage and seeing patients immediately, gathering signalment and presenting complaints, performing physical exams and diagnostics (ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, biopsies), formulating diagnostic and therapeutic plans, communicating options to clients, preparing estimates, maintaining medical records, educating clients on aftercare, and performing both minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures. Must thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented ER environment, possess empathy and ownership, and engage in ongoing learning and growth. Required Qualifications
- A DVM or equivalent degree
- Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg (support up to 40 kg)
- Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong/odorful conditions
