Job Summary
Perform routine bedside nursing activities including ambulating, moving, and turning patients, assisting with bedpans or urinary devices, making beds, and bagging patient belongings. Execute delegated tasks such as starting saline locks, simple suture removal, splinting, phlebotomy for children over age 2, vital sign measurement, intake/output recording, and restraint application. Apply sterile and non-sterile dressings, assist with catheterizations, enemas, urine/stool testing, glucometer readings, and EKG functions. Gather subjective and objective patient data through direct observation, interviews, and medical records, then document accurate interventions and responses. Reinforce patient teaching plans, perform discharge functions under supervision, and maintain adequate equipment and supplies in patient care areas. Ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for response, safely transport patients, remove waste, sanitize tools, and deliver meals. Complete all required safety training, follow exposure control plans, and demonstrate professional conduct while working effectively as part of the department team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience
- Requires a minimum six months' exhibited performance as a nursing assistant or other inpatient caregiver experience, paramedic, EMT, urgent care caregiver experience or a Nursing Student
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
- Must comply with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
