Job Summary
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Emergency Department, you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients, including assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient charts. You’ll deliver compassionate care, support patients nearing end of life, and navigate exposure to bodily fluids in a fast-paced ER setting. Certifications required within six months of hire include Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider) and Basic Dysrhythmia, with optional Advanced Splinting Class. Requirements include high school education or GED and being 18+. Training includes PCT class and ED orientation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age
- PCT class as required by care center/unit
- ED orientation program
- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider within six months of hire
- Basic Dysrhythmia Class within six months of hire
