Job Summary
Provide direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assist the Licensed Independent Practitioner, Registered Nurse, and Unit Secretary in supporting the efficient flow of patients through the Emergency Department. Maintain accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies while demonstrating effective communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff. Hold an active working knowledge of Credentialing Competencies and consistently demonstrate professionalism in appearance and conduct. Requires current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification, with CNA, MA, or EMT preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments
- Basic medical terminology
- Computer familiarity
Desired Qualifications
- Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children
- CNA, MA or EMT
