Job Summary
Stock and organize ED supplies and equipment, transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hospital beds, and measure vital signs accurately. Provide support and information to patients and families in the waiting area, alert the nurse to patient changes or safety concerns, and respond to call bells. Perform circulating roles during trauma activations, conduct phlebotomy and EKGs as ordered, and document POCT results and hourly rounding in the EHR. Assist with ambulation, comfort measures, suicide watch, and sitter duties as requested. Submit work orders for equipment repairs and maintain pre-hospital equipment standards. Participate in ED staff meetings and shared governance.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate/GED or equivalent
- BLS required
Desired Qualifications
- EMT/EMT-P preferred
- EKG certification preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Previous customer/patient relations experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician/CNA preferred
