Emergency Services Tech II - Emergency Services - Full Time

Job Summary
Stock and organize ED supplies, transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, and measure vital signs accurately. Present in the waiting area to support patients and families, while alerting nurses to changes in patient condition or anxiety. Perform circulating roles during trauma activations, conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and POCT testing as ordered, and respond to call bells. Assist with ambulation, bed pans, and comfort measures, and perform hourly rounding and suicide watch as requested. Maintain pre-hospital equipment, submit repair work orders, and participate in ED staff meetings and shared governance. Full-time night shift rotation with weekends and holidays required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to safely transport patients utilizing wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
- Commitment to patient safety and exceptional patient experience
- Requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of patient transport, specimen collection, EKG performance, and point-of-care testing
- Rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, required
- Schedule varies based on Emergency Department staffing needs
- Must participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental shared governance activities
Desired Qualifications
- EMT or EMT-Paramedic certification
- EKG Certification
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Previous customer service or patient relations experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of Patient Care Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant experience
