Job Summary
Assist with airway management, ventilation, patient assessment, care, and trauma treatment in the Emergency Department under physician or midlevel provider direction. Triage patients to determine illness and injury nature, classify priorities for immediate treatment, and complete primary surveys. Administer medications, start IVs, and deliver IV solutions in accordance with established protocols approved by the Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services, Chief Medical Officer, and Medical Executive Committee. Requires a Florida Paramedic license, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Paramedic Program
- At least 21 years of age
- One (1) year experience in an emergency department or related experience
- Licensed Florida Paramedic
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certificate (PALS)
- All Certifications and Licenses are required at the time of hire
- All Certificates and Licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment
- Successful completion of a drug screen
- Background check
- Reference verification
- Health assessment
- Credential/license verification
