Job Summary
Emergency Services Clinician – Per Diem provides emergency triage, evaluation, brief treatment, and clinical referrals for children, adolescents, and families through the Brown University Health Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Services (PBHES) Department. Responsibilities include urgent and emergency triage (phone, virtual, or in-person), conducting clinical assessments across multiple service sites, crisis intervention with patients and families, disposition management, collaboration with multidisciplinary team, documentation, psychoeducation, and coordination of aftercare planning. May participate in research or specialized activities; may supervise social work/counseling students and participate in teaching as assigned. Role operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, with shifts as service needs require; requires a Masters’ degree and Rhode Island licensure (LICSW/LMHC/LMFT).
Required Qualifications
- Masters’ degree in any human services field required
- Current independent license from State of Rhode Island required (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
