Job Summary
Provide medical services within the Emergency Department, managing approximately 17,000+ annual attendances across resus bays, cubicles, and treatment rooms. Deliver crucial on-the-floor leadership to junior medical staff, including Interns, Hospital Medical Officers, and International Medical Graduates, while contributing to operational planning and decision-making processes. Report to the Director of Emergency Services and Critical Care, utilizing delegated authority at the Department Head/Manager level. The role includes input into service team planning within a sub-regional health service that serves a population of 42,000.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Certificate or Diploma in Emergency Medicine or equivalent capability
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in ELS and either EMST, ACME, EMAC, APLS or APEM or equivalent preferable
