Job Summary
Emergency Route Driver (part-time) delivers prepared meals to seniors in their own vehicle. Responsibilities include maintaining participant/meals records, offering assistance to clients, calling on neighbors/friends/911 when needed, obeying traffic laws, attending Nutrition Department meetings and events (including weekend events), and performing other duties as assigned. Required skills include strong communication and problem-solving abilities, experience in food service is a plus, proficiency with a smartphone, GPS usage, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Compensation is $18 per hour with mileage reimbursement and various trainings and events offered.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- Must complete a background check
- Must pass the State of Illinois Food Service Sanitation course and maintain
- Must have an acceptable driving record
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to follow driving directions or ability to use a GPS application
