Job Summary
Collect, report, and document clinical data including vital signs, intake and output, and specimens. Perform laboratory sample collection and testing in accordance with COLA and CLIA regulations. Assist with patient activities, wound care, and safety while maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Provide aseptic technique, infection control measures, and support during admissions, transfers, and discharges. Prepare patients for examinations and chaperone procedures. Maintain care areas with supplies and assist with restraints as needed. Travel to all facility locations and attend staff meetings. Work nights (7pm-7am) in a 16-bed small-format hospital as PRN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience
- Completion of EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic), AEMT (Advanced-EMT), Licensed Paramedic (LP) course/program and one year of applicable experience
- Completion of EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) and 1+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician or hospital equivalent experience
- Completion of the first year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing and one year of applicable experience
- 2+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician
- 3+ years as a CNA with relevant hospital experience
- 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech experience
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Current ACLS/ALS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Active Paramedic (EMT-P) license
- Active Advanced EMT (A-EMT) license
- Completion of an IV certification course
- Active phlebotomy license
- Lab Assistant certification
- Fluency in English; written and oral communication
- Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance)
- Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance)
- Night/Weekend shift differentials
- Paid Referrals
Desired Qualifications
- Current PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG
- Exceptions where it is strongly preferred include Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, El Paso, DFW, and Central PA (WellSpan Hospitals)
- Wisconsin (required only for EMT-P roles)
