Job Summary
ER Technician role providing direct emergency patient care and routine duties under supervision. Responsibilities include venipuncture, vital signs, pulse oximetry, specimen collections, point-of-care testing, infection control, patient hygiene and feeding support, transport within the ER, wound care, ROM exercises, ECG, medical records handling, and assisting with discharge. Requires high school diploma or equivalent (or approved alternative) and BLS certification within 60 days. Fully on-site, day-shift, full-time position at ECMCC in Buffalo, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; or one (1) year experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, nursing assistant or hospital aide; or possession of thirty (30) semester credit hours from a school of professional nursing; or completion of a course of study in a school of practical nursing approved by the New York State Education Department; or completion of a certificate program as a medical assistant, medical office assistant or closely related program from a college, university or post-high school institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from an ECMCC approved provider within sixty (60) days of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment.
