Job Summary
Assess patients upon arrival to determine condition severity and prioritize care using standardized triage protocols. Provide direct care for a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing wound care or splinting, and monitoring vital signs. In cases of severe illness or trauma, assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions such as ACLS, PALS, and trauma care. Manage high-stress situations effectively by remaining calm and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously. Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions. This role requires a current state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificates, with a preference for one year of acute care ER experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current
- Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- E.R. setting preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
