Job Summary
Provide supportive patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and assist in maintaining a safe environment and operational efficiency. Deliver clerical assistance when the unit secretary is unavailable. Attend education programs, unit meetings, and assigned committees while participating in performance improvement activities. Share responsibility for teaching and orienting new personnel within your skill level. The position is located in Overland Park, KS, with day, evening, and night shift options available.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience
- A minimum of one year experience working with children, families or customer service
- Emergency Department experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course
- Within the past three (3) years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state examination in any state
- Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past three (3) years
- Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past three (3) years
- Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in the country
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Supply immunization records as proof of vaccination
- Drug screen
