Job Summary
The Grants Accountant is responsible for the financial management of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance, reporting, and effective partnership management in emergency response and humanitarian contexts. Key responsibilities include maintaining financial records for grant activities, assisting in budget preparation, overseeing fund disbursement, preparing financial reports, supporting local partners' financial management, and assisting with audit preparations. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum of 3 years in finance focusing on grants, familiarity with donor regulations, and a willingness to work in emergency settings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in finance with a strong focus on grant-funded project financial management
- Familiarity with donor regulations (BHA, ECHO, UN agencies, etc.)
- Proficiency in financial software, budget tracking, and compliance monitoring
- Strong ability to conduct reconciliations and financial variance analysis
- Willingness to be deployed on short notice to emergency settings with limited resources
Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- ACCA
- equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Prior experience working with international NGOs in grant financial management
- Knowledge of financial reporting tools, accounting software, and ERP systems
