Job Summary
The Finance Officer in the Emergency Response Roster is responsible for executing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations, and maintaining financial integrity in emergency response settings. Key duties include reviewing financial documents, ensuring transactions align with regulations, preparing for audits, and managing local reporting requirements. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, minimum 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in financial software, as well as a willingness to work in challenging environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and finance roles
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, cash flow management, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Proficient in financial and procurement software
- Willingness to be deployed on short notice to emergency settings with limited resources
- Effective written and verbal communication in English
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Prior experience working with international NGOs
- Strong familiarity with financial compliance and audit processes in emergency contexts
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work long hours in stressful and demanding environments
- Ability to travel between field locations with basic living conditions
