Job Summary
Assess and provide advanced patient care using medical equipment, defibrillators, and medications while driving the ambulance to minimize response times. Continuously maintain certifications, monitor unit conditions, and document patient care and billing activities. Communicate with dispatchers, determine transportation destinations based on patient status, and collaborate with allied health personnel. Work past scheduled shifts as needed and pass the Physical Agility Test. As a national leader in medical transport services, our teams deliver compassionate care across emergency and patient relocation sectors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current state Paramedic License
- Valid State Driver's License
- Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS or PHTLS Provider Certification (where applicable or required by contract)
- Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy
- Ability to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
- Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times
- Ability to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects
- Ability to work past scheduled shift with little or no notice
