Job Summary
Conduct pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility. Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame, maintaining thorough documentation. Perform daily base checks including narcotic counts, attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings, and assist with pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance activities. Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences while ensuring compliance with safety standards for self, medical personnel, patients, and equipment. Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director. Functions as a medical flight member while maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- Trauma certification
- NREMT-P certification (if required in assigned area)
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Certification (FP-C)
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS
