Job Summary
Provide specialist emergency medicine services to patients in the region and supervise medical staff within the Emergency Department. Participate in the education of medical, nursing, and allied health students while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Maintain effective communication through information technology and demonstrate commitment to teaching, continuing education, and quality improvement. The role requires eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia, recent clinical experience, and availability to participate in an on-call roster. This position supports the largest regional health service in the area, which recently opened a brand new ED on campus and continues expanding with a new hospital site by 2028.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
- Full vaccination status or approved medical contraindication certificate for COVID-19 and flu
