Job Summary
Conduct rapid assessments, diagnoses, and stabilization for acute medical and surgical emergencies in the Emergency Department. Order and interpret laboratory investigations, imaging, and ECGs to guide treatment for trauma, cardiac, and respiratory crises. Perform or assist with emergency procedures and coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and paramedics. Determine patient disposition through discharge, admission, transfer, or referral while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Participate in shift-based coverage including nights, weekends, and public holidays, and contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Valid medical license/registration in the relevant jurisdiction
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine or equivalent
- Relevant clinical experience in Emergency Medicine
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and emergency management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Commitment to patient safety, professional ethics, and high-quality clinical care
- Proficiency in English
Desired Qualifications
- ATLS certification is preferred
- Additional languages are an advantage
