Job Summary
Emergency Medicine Physician needed to staff Centra Health’s network of four ERs in central Virginia (Lynchburg, Farmville, Bedford, Gretna). Role features a collegial, employed group with an equitable scheduling culture, months-long orientation, active nocturnist program, and option for days/evenings only with no night shifts. Flexible work settings from busy trauma-center ERs to free-standing EDs; guaranteed time off, no scheduled call, and teaching/student options. Competitive compensation with sign-on bonus, relocation assistance up to $15,000, CME allowance, and robust benefits. Typical shifts include 10-hour and 12-hour schedules with staffing designed to match patient acuity and volume (multi-hospital throughput, 1.7–2.2 patients per hour). Required Qualifications
- Completion of medical degree and residency/fellowship training in emergency medicine
- MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or in the process of certifying.
