Job Summary
Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate differential diagnoses. Develop and implement patient care plans, prescribe medications, and perform minor procedures such as suturing and wound care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, while educating patients on conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Maintain accurate patient records and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical protocols. Assist in critical care settings and respond to emergency situations as needed. Requires 2+ years of primary care PA experience, NCCPA certification, BLS/ACLS, and state licensure. Bilingual Spanish or Creole preferred. Flexible travel required per business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited nursing/physician assistant program
- 2 plus years' experience as a physician assistant in primary care
- State licensure and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment
- Dedication to maintaining high standards of patient care and ethical conduct
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience
- Advanced English
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience working with a multicultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective
- Bilingual Spanish or Creole
