Job Summary

Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate differential diagnoses. Develop and implement patient care plans, prescribe medications, and perform minor procedures like suturing and wound care. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to coordinate patient care, educate patients on conditions and preventive measures, and maintain accurate medical records. Assist in critical care settings, respond to emergency situations, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing/physician assistant program
  • 2 plus years' experience as a physician assistant in primary care
  • State licensure and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment
  • Dedication to maintaining high standards of patient care and ethical conduct
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience
  • Advanced English

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working with a multicultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective
  • Bilingual Spanish or Creole
